The series “Becoming Elizabeth” is set to premiere on STARZ on 12th June, so not long now!
STARZ says of the series:
“”Becoming Elizabeth” is the untold story of England’s most iconic Queen, long before she ascended the throne. Henry VIII’s death throws a young orphan Elizabeth Tudor into the unpredictable and dangerous English court. As her 9-year-old brother is crowned king and the great families of England and powers of Europe vie for control of the country, Elizabeth can be either pawn or player.”
It stars Alicia von Rittberg as Queen Elizabeth I, Romola Garai as Queen Mary I, Jessica Raine as Catherine Parr and Tom Cullen as Thomas Seymour.
Elizabeth’s early life is so often neglected so it will be interesting to see how this series portrays Elizabeth.
