Sir Francis Drake Sets Sails from Plymouth for Spain – 2 April 1587

On this day in history, 2nd April 1587, Sir Francis Drake sailed out of Plymouth bound for Spain, where he destroyed 37 Spanish ships moored at Corunna (A Coruña) and Cadiz, ships that were being prepared for an attack on England
