Elizabeth the Prisoner

Elizabeth was imprisoned at the Tower of London in the Queen’s Lodgings between March and May 1554 after being implicated in Wyatt’s Rebellion. You can find out more about her imprisonment in the following article and video:-

When Elizabeth was released on the 19th May 1554 she was sent to Woodstock in Oxforshire to be kept under house arrest.

  1. How coincidential, she went free on the 18th Anniversary of her mother’s death! Her mother did not leave the tower that day, she died, but Elizabeth left it, alive.
